WARNING: Game contains VORE (Female predator). I recommend you turn back now if you do not know what that is.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere lies a school called Deep Pit. In a world where there are humans, monster hybrid humans and giant humans, Guy, a regular human, is your average student and is one of many students in this school. Guy was concerned about the rare cases of students going missing and after gathering information, he discovers how some of them went missing. The issue is that someone else in this school has a gut feeling that Guy knows too much and will do whatever it takes to keep their secret safe.

Players need to find keys in order to escape. Listen out for the predator in order to avoid being eaten. There are apples around the school that can help you escape from predators if you get caught. Other students will be walking around; looking clueless since they have no idea what is going on and maybe they can be useful to you in some way.

You can play as four different students. There are four predators to escape from.

Controls: Press ESC when you start the game and can move around.

Might add:

  • One other map
  • More female predators
  • A special outfit for each predator.
  • Male predators - A toggle in the settings to replace all female predators

Will there be an option for the pred's clothes to pop after they've eaten enough, seeing how big Bella gets I would love to see it.

(+1)

will the game be free in a future?

If your playing as a student pred are you able to eat the big apex preds if your hunger bar goes low enough

Will it be on Android someday ?

(1 edit)

so is anyone else getting the failed to load il2cpp error when trying to start up the game. Nevermind it was just a bad download

(1 edit)

I'm confused about how the student pred works in the demo. do I beat the demo for a student pred to show up or is it in the full ver

only in paid version

what is the new update

would you consider controller support if you can implement it ghost?

(+1)

Here to make a report.

I don´t know if its just for me, but when you eat something in the new version it automatically sets your hunger to a set %. For example if you eat a small apple while at 99%, once it gets digested you somehow get but to 17%.

(+4)

Had some ideas, obviously you’re free to do what you want with them.

1: I think the green overtaking the screen indicating the digestion process is good, but personally I think that a meter similar to the noise meter would work much better as we can see the digestion and struggles a little more clearly.

2: the sound design for the digestion is good, but i think that finding someone who’s a little more experienced with creating a soundscape for digestion would serve the experience well.  (Just me at least but I think the prey should sound much more desperate to escape)

3: maybe the ability to look around 360 while inside the pred would be great apart from the limited axis we get.

4: maybe instead of the player perspective being to a bone after digestion, link it to the pred?  So we can continue to observe as they eat other students after digesting us.

5:  I’m sure this would be pretty difficult to implement, but maybe show the pred actually swallowing the player character model?  This could even have a gameplay mechanic to struggle and break free before being completely swallowed.

lastly I have some overall questions:

Were the struggling animations changed?  I saw in a build from a month ago that face imprints were implemented, bone digestion was also included, and that the struggles were more rapid and frantic, but I haven’t seen that personally in the current build.  Are you planning on adding them back in or no?

What are some other ideas you’re thinking of implementing that may not be included in the notes, and if so what’s the likelyhood of them being included?

anyways, that’s all I have for you.  Thanks again for releasing, and looking forward to future updates.

(+3)

I hope if you add player can play predator mode not student mode

(+3)

I bet playing as a giant apex predator eating other students would’ve been a REALLY fun experience to play. 🥴❤

You can play as them in a full version I think. If only it was avaliable on steam.

Sort of, the original comment meant a mode where you play as a predator going round and eating students, what you're referring to is that you can play as smaller versions of the preds while still being hunted by a pred

(2 edits)

Similar to what Rise (Best girl) mentioned, you only described Student Predators, where you play as a miniature version of the Apex Predators you unlocked. The OP specifically mentioned Apex Predators, where it’s the giant predator that chases you down (Or Tulpy who flies higher than normal).

Student Predators IS NOT Apex Predators, since Student Predators can still be eaten, and Apex can’t be eaten (Under specific conditions).

Apex Preds can be eaten

Yeah, I forgot to mention that lmao-

Curious how to do that. I've tried after escaping with an apple... I mean, the answer could be just "get good", but maybe I have not approached the situation correctly

It's not related but I need to know, when you say Rise is best girl, do you mean in p4 or in persona in general? And if it's just p4 then who would you say it is in general

Just in general, nothing special haha.

(+1)

Honestly fair, I'm a bit biased because p4g was my first persona game

I haven't been able to get the nightmare 2 pred mode even though I completed the 2 pred mode 5 times, I wonder if it's due to a bug or "completed" saves pre-update do not work and I need to delete my data

(1 edit) (+1)

I was experiencing this same issue. Have you beaten 2 pred mode post-update? This is what did the trick for me.

Ghost also specifically mentioned that both main preds need to still be alive (can't have 1 eat the other or eat 1 yourself) when completing it

(1 edit) (+2)

Hey Ghost :) just wanted to share feedback:

I played through nightmare double pred mode and I LOVE it! This is my favorite update since you first released the game (from 1 to 4 available preds) and the most replayable.

The sheer chaos of 2 hungry preds chasing +10 students is incredibly fun, dynamic, and immersive. The change of student preds being hungry in nightmare, not just the main preds, is fantastic as well. It's very funny with the easter egg you included.
I do miss when they would move towards you to swallow you, though, it seems like they don't do this anymore.

What's interesting is the combination of hungry preds and many students inadvertently gives a player a really good change of spectating, even after being digested, since the preds will continue to hunt and swallow prey. Since bones aren't spit up when preds are digesting, and they are spit up only 1 or 2 at a time afterwards (if they haven't already found and swallowed someone new), spectating can happen for as long as 10 minutes on average! This is incredible.
As a side note, this is the only time I can really get a close look at Ligeska, with the 360 rotational camera, and appreciate the work you did with her model as she swallows more students.

Possible Bugs?
Speaking of Ligeska, it seems when she swallows 3.0 total units of students (if 1 normal student = 1.0 unit) after swallowing the player, the player immediately dies. I was curious if this was intentional, I believe I first noticed it as far back as Ligeska has been around.

When Ligeska spits out Tulpy, it seems like her model gets stuck in the air, about 2 feet higher than Ligeska's head. This makes Tulpy immobile (still swallowable though, which Ligeska immediately does after recovering).

Finally, when a pred swallows someone that swallowed someone (inception), the 2 prey are then treated as if they were swallowed separately. For example, say the player was swallowed by a student pred, then the student pred is swallowed by a main pred. if the player struggles and escapes, they're completely free. This seems difficult to implement, as it requires tracking 2 separate instances of digestion. Plus, escaping from one belly, only to end up inside another may be hard to represent visually and just feel punishing from a gameplay perspective, so I can understand why it's not this way.

Thank you for reading my feedback and for the updates to this game, I really do enjoy it :)

after swallowing the player, the player immediately dies

This bug still persists? I’ve heard someone pointed that out a month ago.

(1 edit) (+2)

Yeah, if 2 (normal sized or bigger) students are swallowed after you are. I don't particularly mind it, because I imagine Ligeska pushing her existing prey deeper inside her guts as she swallows others lol

(1 edit)

… Is it intentional that the (hungry) predator just basically RUNS up to your location even if you’re sneaking around or just walking normally? Like in the entire run, I never run at all, except from the start of the 30 second cooldown.

Because I noticed that it happened when I was directly above or below a floor from the predator, which ruin a couple of my nightmare runs. (Or just when the predator was like nearby lmao)

Thankfully it’s an uncommon occurrence, but just to point it out.

(1 edit) (+1)

It should be possible for them to hear you if you are walking and you are within about 4 meters directly below of above them.

(+3)

I am once again asking for our beloved game dev GhostWhisperer971 to consider giving Ligeska the Lamia a big frontal belly upon the initial swallowing of prey, and for the bulge to move downwards into the snake part as part of the digestion animation.

It is pretty disappointing as it is currently tbh!

(1 edit)

A tough request that I most likely can not consider since there are complications that come with it

(+1)

What about just, like, a big frontal belly instead? Or an option for it?
I don't really like snake stomachs...

do i have pay again to have the update?

(+2)

No, you’ll only pay once, and you still have access to the game.

No.

Hello everyone I just beat 2 pred mode and unlocked the nightmare mode of it I heard there was a easter egg if you beat nightmare tulpy and then play nightmare 2 pred mode.

without spoiling what the easter egg is could anyone who could have found this easter egg tell me some information on how to find it like how rare is it do i need to play as tulpy i just want to information if possible.

(1 edit)

Start up random two nightmare, turn around, if something is not unusual, go back to main menu  and repeat this process. It should take no more than seven tries.

I found it lol I guess i can tell who your favorite pred is now lol its amazing hope you do that with the other eventually worth all the trouble in my opinion

oh also one more thing i saw someone say they played as satie you didnt include playable satie in the patch notes so i dont know how true this is. Is satie playable?

random two nightmare is completely inspired from requests I saw in the past, which is why it does not count towards escape progress. Also I do not have a favorite.

I can not say about satie, but if you saw someone say it and I did not delete the post then who knows?

alright fair enough hope you have a good day maybe i will find Satie one day

Satie was always an unlockable character ever since the initial release of the full game, hence why it wasn’t in any of the patch notes.

(1 edit)

Start Double Predators Nightmare Mode after beating Tulpy’s Nightmare Mode, and it has a random chance of encountering an easter egg during the start of the game. Be sure to look around if you noticed something unusual, and if not, restart and try again.

(+4)

Could you post some patch notes, I believe I saw them, but then they disappeared

They are removed after 24 hours. I might stop removing them once the game is added to steam.

(+4)

Is it possible to post some sort of Dev log/patch notes when you do an update so there a notification.

(1 edit)

When there is a noticeable change or a lot of changes, I post a dev log and then remove it after 24 hours. For smaller updates, I do not want to notify everyone of a small change like an unnoticeable bug fix. Sometimes if I do a lot of small updates, I do a dev log later talking about all of them.

May I ask why you remove the old patch notes?
24 hours is quite a small window to notice.
I come back to this game randomly and have to guess if its updated.

(3 edits)

I believe there is a feed tab on here that tells you when someone you followed has made a change to a game.

I deleted the dev logs because I did not want it to stack up and become a big pile of dev logs that buries any other dev logs like the game guide.

(1 edit) (+1)

Should the guide be in the actual game for transparency? Like a mini-tutorial or some sort?

With the exception of the in-game tooltip via the pause menu.

The tips should be enough to understand what to do in the game. The guide was made mainly for frequently asked questions. A tutorial is not necessary for this game.

(+1)

It doesnt appear in my feed if deleted I guess, perhaps you could leave the lastest dev diary until the next update instead of 24 hours?

That way they wouldnt build up and the latest build would always show in the feed. Currently you dont appear in the feed at all other that the guide post.

Will Ligeska be played next update?

The next updates can not be predicted.

(+4)

Will next update have jiggle physics and bigger weight gain and more stomach noises and preds getting tired/sleepy?

(+3)

Hello Ghost :)

I've beaten two random mode, even after the update, but I don't see an option for nightmare. Is there a book I'm supposed to find, like the rest? Thanks!

Deleted 6 days ago
(1 edit) (+2)

Update:

I beat random 2 pred mode on the newest update (played as Satie, Bella and Ligeska were preds) and unlocked its nightmare mode :) no book is required.

Appreciate all that you do

(1 edit) (+2)

Sorry for not answering. I was distracted by there being a bug that you pointed out, which I fixed, so I did not notice your question.

Yeah you are right. There is no book in random two mode

No worries, you didn't mention a book being needed in the development log so I was just double checking!

(+2)

You fix things so fast its honestly impressive just don't overwork yourself

(+1)

I have Noticed a few bugs with this new update that i think you should know about

1. I was playing as the new playable tulpy  and i escaped Satie with her book but it didn't count for some reason guess it has something to do with tulpy being only able to hold 1 item i have no idea.

2. this is a bit on the minor side like a nitpick if anything but i might as well put this here since I'm writing this, there's a weird gap when you eat some one as tulpy and rub your belly where you can see through tulpys belly its not bothering me at all just thought I say something about it.

of course I can understand your trying to get this game on steam so I'm not asking for an immediate fix take your time and i wish you well.

overall though its a wonderful update nice to finally play as tulpy excellent work.

(1 edit)

Can confirm: I encountered this issue. I assume since Tulpy is missing an item slot, her slot is always Slot 1, which is the item you always carry keys with you.

To make a reference: Slot 1 is mainly Keys, your Right hand. Slot 2 is mainly other items like Apples or Papers, your left hand. And Slot 3 is reserved for Predators where you select it to either devour students or rub your belly.

Since Tulpy can only have 1 item slot (Right Hand), Tulpy can carry many different item types one at a time. Thus, the game ONLY detects whether if the player has a book on the Left Hand, which is non-existent for Tulpy’s case.

(1 edit)

Thank you for the bug reports. Both are really bad bugs and I will fix as soon as possible.

Will it be on Steam later?

(+1)

17 days ago GhostWhisperer971 answered that it should take 3+14 days for it to appear on steam. I guess something went wrong once again.

(+1)

Still working on it.

What was the new update about?

(1 edit) (+1)

Aside from Tulpy being a new unlockable and some nerfs/changes, I can assume it’s just some bug fixes. (Or with the new addition of a playable character, the game description was updated to reflect the new changes.)

(+1)

You can play as Tulpy now! Awesome update

(+1)

How do you unlock Tulpy? I've got the book and completed nightmare mode on her.

(+1)

I'm not sure, I've completed nightmare with all predators prior to the update, surprised it's not Tulpy's. My guess is Ligeska's nightmare?

(+1)

I think you have to clear everything (Nightmare Mode not included) And similar to Bella, you’ll have to escape her with the book in hand.

Seems by getting the book for Ligeska (maybe all preds) I unlocked Tulpy

(4 edits) (+1)

Well, the requirement for unlocking Tulpy is a bit complicated, but I think I understand the unlock requirement:

  • Completing all main 4 Predators without collecting the book will not unlock Tulpy. (Tested it with my 100% save and my fresh save)
  • Collecting Bella’s, Satie, and Ligeska’s books without collecting Tulpy’s books will not unlock Tulpy.
  • However, after completing all main 4 Predator, escaping the book in hand for Tulpy will unlock her.

If you haven’t completed all predators, including Ligeska, then the requirement of unlocking Tulpy won’t be met, even if you already completed Tulpy with the book in hand. If you already collected Tulpy’s book, and already win at least one time in all 4 predators, Tulpy will be unlocked.

(Also, I won’t be surprised if this gets deleted lmao)

what's is the A way out.exe? Like...2 .exe?

Not sure where that came from.

Redownload the game to fix that.

(1 edit)

Any chance to translate the game to portuguese? i know there's no dialogue, but would be cool if the tips and some text was in portuguese, i can translate it too

Playthrough specific guide, based on my several hours of playing this game

  • The Predator (or predators in cases of double predator mode) will ALWAYS spawn in the cafeteria, and they’ll decide to either head straight into the 104/105 classrooms, 101 classroom or the Nurse’s office area.
  • The Predator has around 30 second cooldown before moving, so you’ll have all the time to run in places at the start of the game.
  • Check open areas that aren’t locked. Good example is that while in the very start of the game, check the 2F bathroom or the 1F bathroom first for keys, if there’s no open doors on the first floor. Mainly useful for Nightmare Mode, but it can work for Normal Mode as well.
  • If there’s no key in the 2F bathroom, go straight into the 1F bathroom.
  • After looking in the 1F bathroom for items, either go straight to the Storage room, Security room if it’s open, or the auditorium for keys (Make sure to look EVERYWHERE on the auditorium).
  • Check for lockers or water fountains, or areas where you spotted an item where you normally don’t see. There are also keys lying around the floors (Especially since the keys can sometimes blend in with the purple stairs too lmao).
  • If you know that the pred is far away from you in another floor (Ex: Pred is in the Cafeteria while you’re on the 2nd floor), you’re free to run, provided if the predator isn’t too hungry.
  • If the predator is too hungry, it’s risky to run, because the predator will dash to the nearest loudest sound creates.
  • In a case of the above tip (And especially for Nightmare Mode), always drop your keys immediately upon use, away from the room that you’re entering to distract the predator.
  • If you hear the predator’s footstep (Or wings for Tulpy), crouch and sneak, or hide to the nearest room. Sometimes the predator will walk back to the same area you’re in, so make sure to wait just a little longer until it’s safe to come out of hiding.
  • The rooms that aren’t locked are all of the bathrooms (2F, 1F, B1), Storage, Auditorium, and Cafeteria. Make sure to go there if you have the chance.
  • Completely optional, especially for ones without any items in hand (And at least 1 or 2 bell dings), but you can immediately restart the game if you’ve been spotted by the predator and there’s absolutely no way to escape.
  • In a case of Bella and having an apple on your hand, make sure to drop the key before she spots and chases you, since the game is hardcoded to prevent you from dropping any items if you’re already being chased by a predator AND will eat both of your held items. Bella is the only predator that favors apples instead of you, giving you a small window of time to escape, despite taking both of your held items.
  • Following from the above tip, predators that’s not Bella will still eat you regardless of if you’re holding any apples or not. In case of that happening, make sure you have at least a Green Apple that increases the chance of escape… If you gamble to win the lottery ticket. 😆
  • Hiding behind the Cafeteria table is overpowered, to the point that with good positioning, you won’t be seen by the predator at all.
  • If you’re doing Nightmare Mode, you should know that all keys are the same color (white). You’ll have to drop your keys next to the door to avoid mixing up keys that are already opened.
  • During Nightmare Mode, aside from the mentioned 32 second cooldown, the predator will become hungry at the start of the game and will chase to the nearest loudest sound possible. Sometimes, but rarely, will chase after you even if you’re not running, so make sure your hiding spot is almost foolproof, like the Library or the Cafeteria.
  • Following from the above tip, hiding in one of the opened classrooms (Especially in the 1F classrooms) is a good suggestion as well. Just make sure to keep an eye on where you’ve last seen the predator, like if they’re going to the cafeteria or going to the 2nd floor.
  • If you really want to know the predator’s location, you can simply drop the key nearby so that the predator (if hungry) will dash to the location you created the sound. However, It’s strongly advised to keep track of where the predator is heading towards, otherwise, you’ll have moments where you’ll encounter the predator a floor above, below, or unexpectedly. A good example is that if the predator’s footsteps (Or wings for Tulpy) is heading towards you, and there are no signs of the predator, they’re either a floor above or below you.
  • On Nightmare Mode, it’s not advised to play as any of the predators you’ve unlocked, unless if you’ve got lucky to get an apple to stay hungry. With a very scarce apple placement and only 2 students spawned, it’s hard to keep yourself full. Plus, even if you do devour, the player’s stomach can cause a lot of noise, especially belching or releasing your prey, which isn’t ideal if the Apex Predator is too hungry to the point that they will chase after your previously created sound (And it’s also not ideal for hiding with a full stomach).
  • As mentioned in the devlog’s guide, you can trick the Apex Predator to devour the other students, if you properly position yourself behind the other student. If you did it correctly, the predator will devour said student you tricked instead of you. If not, there are moments where even if you’re behind the student, you’ll still be eaten regardless. This tip is not very ideal when it comes to Nightmare Mode, with even the mere sight of the Apex Predator will made them run away (If the apex is chasing them that is). It’s a bit difficult to position yourself when the student is always moving, so I tend not to use this technique.
  • Sometimes the key RNG will grant you the exit early (And also the book if you haven’t collected it) if you’re lucky, and if you’re unfortunate enough, you’ll have to go through (Almost) ALL of the keys to unlock (Almost) ALL of the doors to get the exit key… 🙃
  • If you can’t keep track of what keys you’ve found (Especially on Nightmare Mode), you should open up a program either Notepad or similar to keep notes to remember in the future.
  • You’ll have 24 minutes to escape (Which is 8 minutes per dings, and the max dings is 3). In the June build, it was previously 4 dings, which is 32 minutes.

More information should be in the devlog’s guide Will be editing here more if I have more tips to share.

(+1)

Does the book only spawn if you haven't escaped with it? I don't recall seeing it since.  If so, can it be made to spawn in for extra challenge and replayability?

(+1)

The book will always spawn regardless of the times you’ve beaten an individual predator. If you haven’t seen it (And if you haven’t collected the book), then that means it was hidden inside one of the classrooms, which can only spawn there.

Otherwise, if you’ve already collected the book by escaping with it, the book can’t spawn again.

i have yet to beat bella

what does Student Predator Do?

Student Predators option will have a random chance for the predator you escaped and win to spawn as a student that’s the size of the player. If you’re also playing as a predator (Ex: Bella or Satie), you can also devour student predators as well, but they can do the same to you if they’re hungry.

(+2)

I have just beaten nightmare mode Tulpy it was a blast and I been wondering will you ever be considering adding more playable preds i would love to play as Tulpy i can understand if that would be hard to program through im just wondering if its something your planning on doing

(1 edit) (+1)

Playing as Tulpy would probably be interesting. If I may have to make a huge guess (considering that she’s a fairy), she’s probably the only Student Predator to only have one item to carry due to her small body and is one of the noisiest so far. Even when idle, her wings will constantly attract noise as if you’re always walking (And it’s prominent if you’re facing against Tulpy, or Tulpy as a Student Predator NPC). (Edit: This was written BEFORE the recent update LMAO)

But honestly, I too would love to play as a fairy to see how hard it is to manage her noisiness.

(6 edits) (+2)

so after finally getting enough time and sample sizes together for the new update this is my findings on the RNG:

how I gathered the data: playing as Bella on normal difficulty and no other students so as to get a clearer picture of raw player mechanics without the noise of other students having random pieces of paper or struggling being weaker/stronger than normal, I did at least 100 attempts for each of the 4 categories; nothing in hand, paper, red apple, and green apple with crazy apples and small red apples being sampled at 10 due to their rarity and my unwillingness to spend 20 minutes looking for one 100 times, I then repeated this on all 4 predators with my escape attempts recorded being at 1, 2, and 3 since I consider 3 escapes to be reaching in terms of the average user getting caught

now to not make this a whole essay, I am going to condense it into category highlights here:

first escapes I recorded were merely up 4% compared to the older system, wile second attempts were down by 6% and third escapes being down by 18%

nothing in hand dropped by 12%, paper fell by 16% and all apples with the exception of crazy apples went up by 4-9% with crazy apples being DOWN by 6%, take note that since this sample size is drastically smaller due to chance it's around 1 or 2 failed escapes out of 30 per pred, and finally small red apples saw 0% change due to them having a 100% failure rate

for all 4 predators there was very little deviation in each escape attempt overall, with the exception of the 2 extremes of Tulpy and Ligeska, both of which had lower total escapes, Tulpy having a total drop of around 8% and Ligeska having a total escape attempt nearly 66% decreased with first escapes now only  being less than 1% successful  with her crazy apples only succeeding 1 time out of 10 and being the only one to get me out

overall my data is trending downward in successful attempts at all stages other than first having a minor uptick... I am unsure if the old escape chance is "base" chance that we go down to after multiple escapes or if the new system put's us below that threshold as it is more apparent there are massive dropoffs at 2nd and 3rd escapes

It’s no wonder why I feel like during my normal gameplay (Without restarting every time I was spotted by an Apex Predator), the escape chances hardly even changes anything.

(+1)

I'd be interested in what you get if you repeat my test, it'd be a lot better to have multiple data sets of the same sample size to get a more accurate picture, I also added a reply that adds some clarification on the methodology

well, you'll never truly know unless you go through 15000ish games to gather 5040 data points like I did... lolAnyone got a HQ version of Coraline's dad? : r/MemeRestoration

this reply is explaining some of the stuff I have edited or feel needs to be expanded independent of the original post

expansion: my method involves the pred in an empty state, so if you get swallowed with paper and survive the first attempt my data requires her to digest the paper then you get eaten with another piece of paper to test second escape, ect for paper.  Under the Apples I made sure that the pred was not under the effect of another apple, so I DID NOT rely on escape 1 being an apple, then escape 2 being another apple ect, I SPECIFICALLY used non-apple escapes to do this and this part is by far the largest part of why I took a bit as if for every 1st escape with paper I have a 50% chance of escaping I now need to do 100 apples with that coin toss, which makes 3rd escape closer to 15% chance after normalizing data but if you want to do it I am pretty sure apples lose their effect when the pred burps them up so if you are willing to wait and stalk them for that make a note of it in your results.  I also forgot to mention the margin of error in everything is around 3% so I considered Bella and Satie's results to be the same despite them having a small percentage change due to RNG noise.  I also did not include my original/new hard numbers  numbers as it was already getting pretty long and this was directed more at the developer who has their actual RNG number chance known in their coding so the actual hard numbers were not a factor to my intent, but I would like to see everyone's hard numbers if they wish to perform this experiment to see a larger data point on how RNG percent affects gameplay chance whereas my data points are about version trends since I did this with the old version as well.  This means that in total, you need to do at least 5040 games which is...yeah, it's not fun after a while, especially the hunt for those small red and crazy apples

edits: fixed some numerical errors on second readthrough and added some additional context to crazy apple results

(+3)

hello, is their any plan to have a reverse, like the students are activily trying to get out and the player(pred) tries to stop them.

(1 edit) (+5)

Not the person you asked for, but there are two ideas where this can work:

[Devour Them All]: Devour all 30 students (40 students for Nightmare Mode) before they all escape with the same time system. AI’s will actively run away from the player when in sight and hide places where the player must look through. The twist is that the player’s hunger is always low percent (Ex: Max cap is 15%), and running now decreases hunger. After digestion, the player will get a brief boost of speed to catch up with the running students. This is akin to Nightmare Mode.

There are also traps lying around areas that stuns the Apex Player and also some students may carry apples (Ex: Green or Crazy Apple) that can make the situation even worse if the player eats them.

[Hunt Mode]: Same as Devour Them All, except you’ll have to find one student (Which is the target you must eliminate) to devour and win the game. This is similar to the regular game where you play as a prey and the predator only hunts you but mirrored that you’ll have to find them in a crowded university (30 students). The “target” will always try to hide and unlock doors on their own. The only difference is that the Apex Player will always be able to devour, and the “Target” prey will only struggle (And having very high chance of escape).

How the player will detect if the prey is their target is looking at something suspicious about them (Ex: Carrying items, different walking speeds, crouching, hiding in obscure places, etc). Also, student predators can’t be the target, and they can’t devour the target either.

i like those idea alot, do you think it would work better with the camera where we can see around the pred like when you get eaten.

Also if you play as the pred shouldn't their be a touch like trying to stop their struggle or when they almost get out with some chance you can swallow back down the prey, like the struggle button.

And if we keep the  bell, it means after 3 times the target will find the key for the exit anyway so we only have one shot to grab them, and instead of the book we can have a rare student you have to eat.

I think it would be a very interresting concept to put on the game being the hunter instead of the hunted

“do you think it would work better with the camera where we can see around the pred like when you get eaten?”

I also propose an idea for a third person perspective camera as well. Besides, we couldn’t even see what we even look like, only our arms lmao. But in this idea I proposed, It should definitely be recommended.

“trying to stop their struggle or when they almost get out with some chance you can swallow back down the prey, like the struggle button.”

I think it functions the same as if you’re a Student Predator to keep it simple.

Besides, the Target has frequent chances of upsetting the Apex Predator’s stomach, which means that if theoretically in a normal playthrough, there will be like around 8 - 15 Escape Attempt if you swallowed the Target (Empty stomach calculation only).

If it were the case for the above mechanic, then there has to be a quick time event that you’ll have to press a series of buttons every time the escape attempt pops up. It gets harder the sooner you’ll get to the point of digesting your target.

“After 3 times the target will find the key for the exit so we only have one shot to grab them”

Yeah, the bell system should be the same to keep it consistent. You’ll have about 24 minutes to either escape as a prey, or catch your target as the pred.

It would be very interesting to play as an Apex Predator, probably after rewarding for beating Nightmare Mode on each respective predators.

I have unlocked Belle how do I eat other students?

Let your hunger drop to under 16% and then press F to eat a student when close to one. You won't be able to run as fast nor can you crouch so be careful.

I saw in the video the predators spit, you out, so there is no need to panick.

I’ve been wanting to say something now that this game caught my attention: Are there any plans for other means to hide from the predator?

Like a good example is hiding in the lockers (But will cause noise) or under the desk in the respective classrooms. Mainly the former, because going into the T section of the first floor is dangerous in case of the predator surprise attacking from a distance or next to me.

Another suggestion is to throw objects instead of dropping near you. What if you want to toss the paper or the key (The loudest object) to the other side of the room to lure the predator away from your hiding spot? If it were implemented, holding the drop button will increase the throwing power (And will apply to any objects).

I have this weird idea of using apple as "tickets" for hiding in another NPC belly. Well I kinda explain a while ago but just scroll the comments and you will see what I mean by that

(+1)

I already saw that comment. Just like what the developer said, this idea you proposed is only applied to very specific NPC’s (And unfortunately, it only applies to Bella since she’s the only one that favors apples than anyone else), and adding more predators that favors apples wouldn’t change anything. In fact, it just makes Bella less unique than the other predators. If I were the developer of the game, I would say the exact same thing as well.

Plus, it’s locked behind enabling the Student Predator option, since without it, you can’t even hide in any other NPC’s belly (And the majority of NPC’s are students that cannot devour without the Student Predator option).

And even if it were the case of hiding one’s belly, digestion will still take place (Or the predator simply doesn’t let you out), making it feel like you’re willingly getting yourself digested more than hiding from an Apex Predator. There’s no non-digestion for the sake of hiding one’s stomach, unless specified by the developer themselves.

The only time where Apples are useful is if you were eaten with an apple in hand (Or in a case of Bella, giving you a chance of escape by taking the apple on your hand instead), and using apples to hide in someone else means you’re having less chances of escaping the Apex Predator.

Oh no, I don't want to take Bella's uniqueness I love her, you are right we should think of another options, thank you for pointing that out🤙.

The map we have can be considrred "small" so I kinda understand the lack of hiding spots besides the bathrooms sometimes, but I guess it would be something to be still considered for another map.

ok third time's the charm,i have finally beaten all nightmare modes and i was just trying to post a screenshot of every character with the map complete but idk how to do that so ye,ligeska took me 2 days

Satie was a pain for me... it took me a lot of time to beat her, just because shes so loud i always think shes nearby while she actually is on the floor beneath or above me, making me lose time and then the bell rang the 3rd time LMAO nightmare mode is gonna be a serious pain to beat...

Ik you already said it hasnt been decided on yet, but are there any updates on if we will in fact get future predators? I've got a few ideas that I'd like to see if you're willing to hear them

Hey! Not the guy you are saking but... What ideas do you have?

Some are a mix of what I've read before some i thought up, but I think a ghost pred who is very slow but can go throw walls and floors would be very cool, but it would have some issues to work around, or a weeping angel type pred where you need to look at it, occasionally when out of sight it would teleport elsewhere, I think a pred that can disguise itself as one of the prey would be sick, and I'd also like to see something like a harpy who would fly up fairly close and swoop down, which would be difficult to avoid but would add a unique playstyle.

Some of these probably can't be added because they might need a code overhaul (mainly the ghost) but I would love to see them or a variant show up in game at some point

Ghost sound hard to program and looks kinda OP but really cool, dont get me wrong.

The weeping angel actually is awesome and a fresh concept in general.

The harpy would be a good adition, but sound more like a harder version of Tulpy.

I don't catch too well the disguise mechanich. Do you mean like a pred that can disguise as another NPC? Sounds cool but can't relate to a monster/fantasy creature with that hability that can work on.

If I could choose... I will go for the ghost, I know its hard to programm but like he/she reminds to that little ghost enemy that got scared when you are looking at him from the Super Mario Series, kinda love it. Maybe the ghost can be easiest to escape from his belly because... Well... Things can go trought him.

The disguise thing I was thinking would have a true form and a fake form and the true form is a taller, more unkempt version of the usual prey students, whereas the fake looks like a normal student but slightly off, maybe with a smile or something. You would need to look out for suspicious behaviour, like a prey following you or trying to block your path and you would need to run before it shifts back into it's true form and devours you.

The harpy is more meant to be something really difficult to avoid, but fairly easy to escape from. It'd fly too high in the air to catch you normally, however when it gets close it swoops down to try and grab you, the swoop would be fast and tough to avoid, but would have an audio cue at the start and some lag at the end so you could escape, the main issue is potentially not noticing the harpy and trying to avoid it's swoop which is fast.

The ghost would have things that make it difficult but fairly easy at the same time. It would most likely wander floors and randomly fly through the ceiling, if it hears a sound it will immediately go to it and you would need a different strategy than just run and hide when being chased. However it would be quite slow and would make a constant sound, maybe a stereotypical moaning like in movies or a dripping like-sound with ectoplasm

I see now, maybe the characther that can fake to be an NPC would be like a shadow momnster or something but would be extremely hard in nightmare mode thanks to the fog effect it have.

The harpy attack is a really change of fresh air, we need more ways to avoid being devoured, maybe we could add some sort of "dash" move to avoide the attack  but also, in my opinion, the concept could fit to an arachne monster girl as well. It would walk on the ceiling all the time so it would be hard to see but do a little "tickticktick" sound when nearby, and when it saw you it it would fall on you and swallow you. I think that the arachne would have the slowlest time to digest you because it would enter in a sleep state after eating something.

Maybe it would be that the ghost will be actually just hunting for you and will not get distracted with another NPC... just to avoid more coding to it? I mean, kinda fits what a ghost would do, and maybe when it would be some sort of allie when we another pred is chasing form us.
